National Association of Academies of Science is seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Term: 9 months contract, March – December 2022
Part-time, $20-25/ hour

Responsibilities
Communications
- Assist in coordinating communications in collaboration with the NAAS Board and partners, including newsletters, website, social media, and affiliate members
- Assist in maintaining the public NAAS Calendar on the website and ensure board & committee members receive calendar invites for meetings & events
- Serve as a primary point of email & phone communication for NAAS until an Executive Director can be hired
Administrative
- Assist in Maintaining board and committee rosters & Board email listserv
- Support board & committee activities, as needed, including scheduling, notetaking, communications, and ensure committees meet regularly as needed to complete their work.
- Assist in other Administrative tasks as needed
Membership
- Assist in maintaining membership records including soliciting membership payments, invoicing and acknowledging payments, and updating contacts for Academies, Funders, AJAS Fellows and others
- Assist with activities to support member academies, including sharing best practices among the Association’s network
Reporting
- Work with NAAS President to establish a weekly work schedule and month-to month calendar
- Provide regular activity reports
- The relationship between the NAAS and the Administrative Assistant shall be that of contractor and contractee. The NAAS shall not withhold taxes or other withholdings. The Administrative Assistant shall be responsible for reporting income and paying taxes and the NAAS will issue a 1099 statement at the end of the calendar year.
Qualifications
- Experience and competence using database & communications software including Microsoft Excel, Google suite, and others.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
Self-directed; able to work with limited supervision.
